The Beverly Anderson Scholarship is awarded each year to a woman who has returned to college after an interruption to her college career and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at George Mason University.

Beverly Anderson is remembered as a generous friend and consummate AAUW member who served this branch as president. When she died on December 15, 1995, her friends made donations in her memory to AAUW Fairfax City Branch.  These funds were designated as the Beverly Anderson Scholarship Fund in 1997, and they have been augmented each year by further donations and fund-raising projects..

The scholarship amount may be as much as $2,500 (actual amount will be determined in March of each year and must be used by the end of the following academic year.

The 2015-2016 application will be available on this website and  through George Mason University’s Office of Student Aid as soon as it is available in early January 2015. Submission of 2015-2016 applications will be on a date to be determined in April 2015. For further information, see the 2014-2015 application here.
