The Beverly Anderson Scholarship is awarded each year to a student who has returned to college after an interruption to her/his college career and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at George Mason University.

Beverly Anderson is remembered as a generous friend and consummate AAUW member who served this branch as president. When she died on December 15, 1995, her friends made donations in her memory to AAUW Fairfax City Branch. These funds were designated as the Beverly Anderson Scholarship Fund in 1997, and they have been augmented each year by further donations and fund-raising projects.

The scholarship amount may be as much as $6,000 (actual amount will be determined in March of each year and must be used by the end of the following academic year).

The 2021-2022 Beverly Anderson Scholarship application will be available on this website and on George Mason University’s Office of Student Aid website, but it is currently inactive.
