About the Fairfax City Branch of AAUW of Virginia

Founded in 1973, the Fairfax City Branch has about 35 members. We have diverse backgrounds and hail from locations throughout the United States and abroad. You’ll enjoy our members, who have varied career and avocational interests, including education, science, technology, business, government, law, and fine arts.

Branch members belong to a local, state, and national network of college-educated women. The Fairfax City Branch is one of twelve in the Northern Virginia District. Nationally, AAUW is an influential organization of over 150,000 members and supporters. Founded in 1881, it has long been recognized for its research and advocacy for education and equity for women and girls.
